>I mentioned on my Facebook page and Twitter last week that changes were soon coming to the blog.
I think they are all good changes, and I hope you will too.
If you haven’t noticed already I have affiliate links on the left sidebar. I went back and forth on whether or not I should do this. I decided to go ahead with it. I’ve been an affiliate with amazon for quite some time now. That link is at the bottom of my page. I would like to add the amazon store to the top with the other pages, but I can’t seem to get it to work for me. If you’ve done this and have suggestions, would you mind sharing?
In the coming months I plan on putting a call out for sponsors. I’m still researching right now. This space of mine is almost two years old and I am so amazed at how far I’ve come in what seems to me, a short amount of time.
Why am I sharing all of this with you? Because I know that sometimes when a blogger places ads on their blog, readers don’t like it. Some may say that I’m selling out. Those who feel that way are entitled to their opinion.
I don’t think I’m selling out. I want to share more with you all of the goodness I find on the internet.
I hope you all know that I would never sell myself out to the highest bidder.
I chose Frog Mama because I have known her from Thebabywearer.com since 2007. She sells a variety of baby carriers, cloth diapers, toys and other accessories. She’s having a sale for the Beco right now. $20 off select fabrics!
Smellgoods because I love her products and they really do smell good! She has bar soaps, bodywashes, a men’s collection, scrubs, oils, I could go on but I’ll let you click over and check things out for yourself.
My content won’t change, but I am going to work on bringing you better content.
I have also added my BlogFrog Community as a page here. It’s still in the new stages. All of those who are already members have their blog posts streaming through the community.
These may not seem like big or very important changes to any of you, but something clicked in me and I feel like I’m about to burst…in a good way.
I never saw myself becoming this person that I am right now. I know there is more to come so I’m preparing. If I want to be a strong, successful, influential black women then I need to work like I’m that person now.
If I want to be a more patient mother, I need to be more patient now, not tomorrow.
I also have this idea for a blog talk radio show. I’m still doing research on it though. It would be really nice to see a natural parenting talk show on TV don’t you think? I’m not able to do that right now, so blog talk radio is the next best thing for me. I’m thinking of gearing it towards women and mothers of color, but it would be open for anyone to call in. I’m not 100% positive on how I want to do it. Like I said, I’m still researching.
I am also putting together a local resources page. If your in the Virginia/DC area and would like to list your business on that page please contact me. I’m looking for doulas, midwives, childbirth educators, lactation consultants, websites for pregnancy, birth, attachment parenting, breastfeeding, you get the idea.
I’ve been on this ever-changing journey for years now, since becoming a mother actually, and I have accepted that there are certain things I not only want to do, but these are things I believe I was meant to do.
My dreams are becoming reality. I’m so tickled!
