Wordful Wednesday: First Soccer Practice

Kiah had her first soccer practice last night, and it was freezing out there! Some girls were out there in their shorts.  Our fingers and toes were numb at the end. The coaches were both really great with the girls…encouraging, and laughing with them…I think it’s going to be a good season. It’s recreational soccer so the focus is on learning the game and having fun.

Kiah said she had sooooo much fun. Her favorite part? “Running and kicking the ball with the girls.”
I tried to get pictures of her actually kicking the ball, but I was a little too slow. They picked out their numbers last night, and she chose lucky number 13. She says she can’t wait to be 13 and that’s why she wanted that number.

Our Tuesday’s  and Saturday’s will be hectic for the next few months. After soccer practice on Tuesday, Kiah has Girl Scouts, and then soccer games on Saturday. Ava has ballet class on Saturday mornings. It’s going to be tricky with one vehicle, but we’ll make it work. Thankfully, all of the soccer games aren’t always during ballet class.

The first game is this Saturday, but I’m going to miss it *insert sad face* It’s the same time as Ava’s ballet class….Charles. I’m going to drop them off 30 minutes early, take Ava to ballet, then drive back over when her class is done. I told Charles to take lots of pictures and video for me, like I did for him yesterday.

Fingers crossed for warmer weather for the game Saturday.
