on my needles

I didn’t do much knitting over the last week. Getting ready for the end of ballet season took up more time than I thought it would.

I also didn’t do much reading….but I am happy with the progress I’ve made on Ava and Nakiah’s skirts. There’s still a ways to go on both, and I’m running out of Ava’s strawberry yarn. Looking for more, but I may have to use the plain white I have and try to find one of those pinks to finish.

There’s no way I’ll run out of Nakiah’s. I have two or three more balls to work with. I’m trying to break up the knitting with knit one purl one rows about every 20 rows. I’m really excited to see how these will turn out since I’m not following a pattern….and I’ve never knit a skirt before.

Joining Ginny for yarn along.

    • Thank you. It is fun….being able to experiment with the skirts. I’m so excited to finish, but realize it could be a while with my tall girls!

  3. Brave woman, winging it on your first ever skirts. πŸ™‚ Looks like they’re coming right along. Do the girls know you’re making them? Are they excited?

    • The girls know I’m making them and they remind me of how long it’s taking all.the.time. They’re really excited, and I good I can finish them sooner rather than later. I’m thinking it would be a good idea to do some smaller projects that knit up quickly.
