Weekending: Love and Learning

Saturday: A friend picked us up and took us to The Big Latch On for World Breastfeeding Week 2012.
It was so nice to see friends that we don’t see that often for whatever reason. The kids drank lemonade, played, colored, danced, and hoola hooped on the stage with their friends.
There was also a babywearing fashion show, but my pictures of that didn’t come out very well….bad lighting.
Samuel slept the majority of the time we were there.

Sunday: I found this one behind the couch studying the human body. She’s absolutely fascinated by it.

Daddy took the kids to our faux beach down the street. I stayed home knitting and listening to music. Those two things are great stress relievers.

Homemade hamburgers for dinner….why do they always shrink up no matter how big and flat you make them. Maybe we’ll use the grill next time.

Reading Geronimo Mouse Detective and learning more about Italy. I love the facts they throw in with the fiction. Talking about Italy prompted questions about Dinosaurs living there. I explained that dinosaurs used to rule the world and were found all over the place.

That led to dinosaur flashcards, fact finding, and looking on our maps to see were in the world they lived.

That was fun!

Weekending, Unschool Monday, and joining in for the August Break.

  1. Thanks for commenting on my blog. I have a son called Samuel too 🙂

And I love how one thing always leads to another. Yesterday my 9 year old asked about a place name here in Australia and we ended up talking about the nation’s history for some time which lead to all sorts of tangents.
